Shelton Flag Football has been teaching young athletes football since 1971.  Our league is a modified flag football league.  Players wear full equipment and are taught basic and advanced football skills conducive to their level of play.  Proper blocking techniques, ball handling and other football skills are taught.  While this is a flag football league it is not a league without contact.  Players do run block, pass block and are taught down field blocking.  Tackling is not allowed however during the flag pulling process players can and do hit the ground.  This brand of football is wide open and skill orientated.  Players have moved on from SFFL to play HS football as players, captains and State Champions.

SFFL offers three levels of play. The structure of the league is very similar to a high school structure. Micro, JV and Varsity divisions are offered.

SFFL starts practice in August. The season runs through the month of November. Micro teams play 1 pre-season game, 10 regular season games and 1 bowl game. The JV/Varsity teams play 1 pre-season game, 10 regular season games, 1 playoff game and 1 bowl game.

All players are expected to attend practice and games throughout the season. Micro teams practice twice per week through the month of August. Practice then drops to once per week in September/October.

JV/Varsity teams practice three times per week through the month of August. Practice drops to two times per week in September and remains two times per week for the remainder of the season.

This is an exciting and fun brand of football.  No travel is involved.  All games are played at the Nike Site in Shelton.

Players from Shelton and all towns are welcome to participate.
