The SeasonUpdatedThursday February 5, 2015 byLuke Philippas.
The Shelton Flag Football season begins the first week of August and plays into the month of November. The following is a breakdown of the season schedule.
Practice: Practice starts the first week of August for all teams. The Micro division will practice 2x per week. The Varsity/JV division will practice 3x per week. Practice days and times are determined by the Head Coach of each team. Once school starts practice is dropped from 3x per week to 2x per week for the Varsity/JV division and down to 1x per week for the Micro.
Games: All teams play one pre-season game and 10 regular season games. Teams that qualify for the playoffs at the Varsity/JV division will also play a playoff game. The Micro level does not have playoffs. All teams at all levels of play will play a Bowl game on SFFL Bowl Day
Bowl Day: SFFL Bowl Day is an all day tailgating event. Food is served all day long and teams play in the Bowl game they qualify for. Many former players and families of SFFL return to see old friends and watch some good football.
Banquet: SFFL has a league banquet which is typically held in December. Great prize raffles, catered dinner and trophies are all part of the event. There is usually close to 500 guests. This has been a long standing tradition for SFFL.
